Pirate's Cove Billfish Tournament has a new leader heading into today's final round

Team Pelican with Capt. Arch Bracher jumped into the lead of the 41st. Annual Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament after Thursday’s competition in the Manteo-based event.
Bracher’s team has 1,000 points on two blue marlin, one sailfish and four white marlin.
All of the PCBT’s 125 billfish caught by the 84 teams have been released.
Teams are competing for $1,263,125 in total prize money.
Today is the last day of competition and so far the billfish tally comes from 30 blues, 52 sails, 41 whites and a pair of spearfish.
Thirty-nine billfish - 10 blues, nine sails and 20 whites - were caught Thursday also saw five dolphin, four wahoo and five yellowfin tuna caught.
Sweet Spot, with Capt. Chris Kubik is in second with 850 points on three blues and a white.
Early leader Viking 82, with Capt. Sean Dooley, is in third with 800 points on two blues and three sails.
Two others teams - Re-Release and Desperado - also have 8— points, but Viking 82 gets the placement nod on time of catch.
We’ll run down all of the other divisional winners and prize money results after today’s final round of fishing.
We would be extremely remiss if we did not give considerable credit to Tournament Control President Julia Brakhage, who scores fishing tournaments, determines standings and prize money, and just about everything but drive the bus - and who knows, she might do that as well.
She’s an astronomical help to guys like myself.
