We all know that the hurricane season "officially" starts on June 1, and we all know that it has started earlier on a near yearly basis.

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring an area where disturbed weather is forecast to form over the next few days.

The area - a couple hundred miles to the northeast of the Bahamas - will be in a good environment for developing into a subtropical system, the hurricane center said on its website.

Forecasters are giving it a 50-50 chance of developing.

But with a strong southwesterly air flow that is going to bring us temperatures in the 80s beginning this weekend, we all know that anything is possible.
