Blue Sky takes the lead in the PCBT
After two days and nowhere to be seen on the leaderboard of the 39th annual Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament, Blue Sky, with Capt. Jay Weaver at the helm, shot into the lead with 650 points on one blue marlin, one sailfish and three white marlin.
Right Hook, with Capt. Austin Spitz, also jumped onto the leaderboard, finishing Day 3 of the event in second with 550 points based one blue marlin, one sailfish and two white marlin.
Day 2 leader Trophy Hunter, with Capt. Kenneth Brown at the helm, dropped into third place.
Teams in the 86-boat tournament fleet are in the water today, trying to catch their share of the $1 million-plus prize money.
Thursday's action saw 10 blue marlin, eight sailfish and 22 white marlin caught and released. That brings the three-day total to 19 blue marlin, 42 sailfish and 23 white marlin.
